Bath, Beaufort County

The next stop in my statewide trip is Bath, North Carolina. Bath is the favorite hangout of Edward Teach (AKA Blackbeard) the Pirate. Bath was North Carolina’s first town, first settled in the 1690s by European settlers. The first settlers were French Protestants from Virginia. Located 50 miles from the Atlantic Ocean in Beaufort County, North Carolina.

While in Bath, you can go to the, well, Bath is a very small town. You can go to the oldest church in North Carolina, the St. Thomas Episcopal Church, built in 1734. You can also visit the Palmer-Marsh House, and go on a guided tour of the house.

Bath is a beautiful little coastal town, and you will have a very educational time.
