The Great Dismal Swamp, Morgan's Cormer, Pasquotank County

Great Dismal Swamp (AKA Wooley Swamp, thanks to Charlie Daniels) is partially in Virginia, and the address is Suffolk, VA, but the bulk of the refuge is in North Carolina. While there, you can go hiking or biking on the Washington Ditch trail, which is 4 miles, or the Dismal Town Boardwalk Trail, which is 1 mile. You could also go fishing, boating, camping, picnicking, or hunting in the 111,000 acres of forested wetlands.
